PROBLEM
A major petroleum company retained Remtech Engineers to
obtain building permits and provide construction management
for a new ethanol railcar unloading rack at a petroleum terminal.
SOLUTION
Remtech provided unloading rack siting, grounding review, fire detection/suppression review, submission of building permit drawings, and construction management services for this project.
Remtech reviewed footing designs and integration of the unloading rack spill diversion routing into the plant’s existing AST tank farm’s secondary containment and treatment system.
Building and fire prevention permits were obtained for construction of this facility.
COST/BENEFITS
This project was completed on schedule and budget. The
contractor was held responsible for removing and reinstalling
inadequate rack footings caught by Remtech.
